Bring nature into your city pet’s environment. They will love you for remembering them so wisely with Critter Grass, Mother Nature’s gift to your pet. This is the same Wheatgrass humans juice as a nutritional supplement. Pets need greens to offset environmental impurities, and to improve their digestion. Wheatgrass supplies vitamins, minerals, amino acids, live enzymes and fiber.
LIve enzymes are oen of the most important parts of wheatgrass. Live enzymes are destroyed by heat and when foods are processed. Research done by Dr. Wattenburg of the University of Minnesota School of Medicine show that when rats were fed a diet containing all known vitamins and nutrients through a highly refined diet, they were unable to produce certain enzymes that de-activate carcinogens in the liver. When greens were added back to their diet they were able to produce the enzyme. The compound found in those greens is called indole which is found in Wheatgrass juice. (from The wheatgrass Book by Ann Wigmore.)
Wheatgrass is 70% chlorophyll. Chlorophyll in itself is nature's greatest healer against diseases and infection. Chlorophyll stimulates the immune system, sweetens the breath, and most efficient at helping cats regurgitate fur balls.
Critter Grass benefits all critters including cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, guinea pigs and mice.
Whole Cats Journal picked "Genesis" Wheatgrass as the Cat's Favorite.
"The cats went after this one with the gusto of cows in a new pasture.
With regular watering it should last about 7-10 days, depending oh how your pets treat it. Refrigerating it when pets are not feeding on the wheatgrass will extend its life.
Directions for Growing:
Soak seed for about 12 hours. Drain seed for about 12 hours. (ie: soak all day and then drain all night) Pour ¼ cup of soil into the 4” round saucer. Water the soil making sure the soil is wet all the way through. Spread the seed over the damp soil. Do not cover seed with the soil. Spray the seed with a spray bottle of water. Cover the 4” round saucer with another inverted 4” round saucer. Wheatgrass needs to be between 60-70 degrees to germinate. Keep covered 3-4 days, watering twice a day. Keep out of direct sunlight. When the wheatgrass reaches 1-2 inches tall, remove the cover. Continue to water daily : you may need to use the sink faucet to water adequately as the grass gets bigger and denser. Offer to your pet once it reaches 6-7 inches tall.
Wheatgrass is a winter wheat. Although it needs 60-70 degrees to germinate it can take lower temperatures once it is 1-2 inches tall. The lower the temperature the slower it will grow.
